In the interest of using all my tools to the best of my abilities, I hope that no one minds a little advertisement on these pages.

Off the Goosebush road near the divide between the trade and the poorer residential quarter of the city of Floran, I run a little shoeshop. I'm a trained and skilled cobbler with many years of apprenticeship. Our prices are reasonable and our shoes are very sturdy. If anyone is in need of some affordable, serviceable, practical shoes, we're eager to have new customers. And we'll tailor them perfectly for your feet, the way you like them, the traditional way. None of this store-bought, in and out nonsense.

We're having a sale on winter boots right now, and if you tell me that you found me through these journals, I'll knock up to three gold pieces off of the price, depending on what sort of shoe you're buying.

How do I feel hurt when Inara says she wishes for her life before she was married, when I stay awake every night hating her for sucking all the life out of me? I sulk because I feel she doesn't want me, when I imagine a life where she disappears and never comes back.

And then she explains herself in the most sympathetic of ways, and all I can think is that she's just making excuses.

It doesn't even make sense.
